Census takers starting to come to homes

Those who haven’t responded to their Census form for 2020 need to do so quickly.

Census takers will soon begin visiting households that have not responded to the 2020 Census. Responding to the Census online at 2020census.gov or by calling 844-330-2020 can keep census takers from your door. The last day to submit census info is Sept. 30.

In Jack County and Texas the numbers are barely above 50 percent so far. Texas 60.4 percent have self-responded, compared to the national average of 65 percent.

The numbers are much worse in Jack County where 49.3 percent have self-responded as of Aug. 31. Internet rate county wide is 22.8 percent. In Bryson the self-response rate is 40.2 percent or 20.1 the internet rate.

Jacksboro has 54.8 percent have self-responded in Jacksboro proper with 26.1 the Internet rate.
