Board of Zoning Adjustment grants variance

Thu, 12/22/2016 - 3:57 pm

The Jacksboro Board of Zoning Adjustment hosted three public hearings Monday to consider variances from zoning ordinances.

Two of the variances involve property owners looking to sell alcoholic beverages.

Representatives for Allsups attended the meeting seeking a variance from the 300-foot rule the city council recently adopted. It states that a business cannot sell alcohol 300 feet, measured property line to property line, from a school or day care.

The Allsups property line is less than 300 feet from that of Kids and Co. day care located at the corner of N. Church and E. Thompson streets.
