VFW to present Rachel Lynch Monday night

Sat, 03/11/2017 - 7:45 pm

The Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8914 Canteen in Jacksboro will present El Reno, Oklahoma singer/songwriter Rachel Lynch at 8 p.m. Monday at the post.

Lynch has a folksy tone, and plays guitar and ukulele. She will be in Jacksboro for one night only during her "March Through Texas Tour." She started singing at the age of 6, playing guitar by 12, and Ukulele at 21 because a friend found a uke in her house after a really big college party and gave it to her. Lynch confesses to playing music because it's the one thing in life that has always brought her joy. "There's always a certain thing in a song that resonates with people, and I want my music to resonate in a soul touching way," she said.

Her music has been influenced by Tenacious D, Bloodhound Gang, Lily Allen, and The Uglysuit.

"I'm really super silly and sweet; I snort when I giggle", says the musician. All are invited to share the evening at the VFW at 220 Oakwood St. and experiene Rachel's talents. There will be no cover charge for the performance.
