Live Oak welcomes new vet to growing practice

Thu, 05/05/2016 - 3:13 pm

Veterinary services in Jack County are growing.

The Live Oak Veterinary Clinic has added a new doctor to help take care of local animals.

Dr. Jesi Harvey joined the Live Oak team last week. The 35-year-old has been a practicing veterinarian for three years.

The Lance Creek, Wyoming native is a graduate of Texas A&M with a bachelor’s degree in Animal Science, master’s degree in Equine Reproduction and a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine.

She performed a veterinary internship at Reata Equine Hospital in Weatherford and worked for a corporate small animal practice while building a mobile goat practice on the side before joining Live Oak Veterinary Clinic.

Harvey said she chose Jacksboro because it’s similar to where she grew up in a rural and agricultural based area. She is enjoying working at a practice that serves both large and small animals.
