Jacksboro’s boys summer league basketball squad took control early Tuesday, June 27 in its season finale versus Millsap but kept the Bulldogs in the rearview mirror to help post 54-46 win at Poolville High School.

For the past several years I have ventured north to the remote waters of northern Saskatchewan for a week of fishing in lakes where the fish seldom see a lure. I’ve written about the experience and thankfully been able to help some of you plan your first venture ‘up north’.

After a less than stellar start in Poolville Summer League basketball the week before, Jacksboro’s boys started to turn the corner Tuesday, June 13 with a split of games at Poolville Junior High. The Tigers defeated Henrietta, 55-46, in the opener.

A 19-2 first half run for Perrin allowed the Pirates to break open a close game in the first half and cruise to a 6531 win over Millsap in summer league basketball action Tuesday, June 13 in Poolville. An 11-0 Pirate run helped the Pirates overcome a somewhat slow start and take a 13-4 lead.

The old adage “Getting there is half the” is true, especially if the traveler is all fired up about the destination. Let me expound on this a bit!
