Secret passwords are hard to make up, type in, remember... I give up

I really think that if the world leaders would require a secret password on their bomb-droppers, the world would be a safer place. Let’s say that the Russians were planning to drop a bunch more bombs on Ukraine (which I suppose is not a wild guess). If… the boss had to have a special password that only he knows to drop the bomb, he would probably have to go at it slowly. It would take him a while to remember just the right password. If he’s like me, he has a folder full of passwords. Of course, most of those have been changed overtime because when I tried to get into the website from my phone, I didn’t have the folder… and couldn’t remember what password I was using at the time, so I punched “reset.” In no time, Amazon or Netflix or Overstocked.com gave me a long, complicated password like 850wR63ttZpy22.

Lottery dreams down the drain

Except for the big bucks that I am paid each week for this column which allows me to order a Medium Supreme Pizza and a side salad and have it delivered, I am on a restricted income, but I’m comfortable. The members of my family should not construe that I have enough to share. One time I thought I had the winning lottery numbers, and four second cousins showed up, towing U-Haul trailers. It was rough on them when I had to admit that the ticket I had was for the week before, and I had absolutely no matching numbers.

King Charles III and the Coronation... in case you missed it

Like many of you, I watched bits and pieces of the coronation of King Charles III last Saturday morning. As the procession of dignitaries, royals, and celebrities filed into the church, I wondered how I would hold up under the same pressure. King Charles and I are the same age. I’m just not sure that my body, let alone my mind, would withstand the pressures of a coronation. I know my feet would be hurting, my gimpy leg would be swelling, and I know I couldn’t sit through an hour’s ride in that carriage and another hour or so during the ceremony without taking a bathroom break.
