Perrin falls to Olney in summer league hoop

Perrin got out to a good start and a bigger, more physical Olney squad June 9 in a Jacksboro Summer Basketball League game but the Cubs  used a 15-2 run midway through the first half to take control and run away with a 55-22 victory.

The Pirates came out very aggressively, using Hunter Francis’ drives to the lane to get on the board. Olney had too much size inside and was able to snare offensive rebounds for second chance buckets.

Remembering the M and M's

Parents with kids know the eternal sounds of summer:

“I’m bored. I need something to do.” and others.

While most everyone hits the road at some point during the season, it can take a while to get to that point as many people don’t take their summer vacation until late July or the first part of August. By the end of that, it’s time to think about heading back to school for the kids.

My wife and I are the opposite: we take our summer vacation early. We also do things differently in where we go as well.

Jacksboro, Bryson continue 'camping'

Camping” continues across Jack County this week, with the girls being the focus of the action.

Monday, the younger girls started out in the main gym working on their volleyball skills with new Jacksboro Volleyball Coach Rosana Barbosa and assistants Karen Adkins and Hannah Henderson with the older girls heading into the practice gym to work on honing their basketball skills with mentors Todd Matlock and Hillary Deffebach.

Rodeo results released

he 61st Annual Jack County Sheriff’s Posse Rodeo ended a three-day run last week.

While attendance was down, those that did come out saw some fantastic rodeo action put on by the T-N-T Rodeo Company. Eight events were run each night with Thursday night being the most interesting with competitors working through a steady rain to give fans, even more excitement.
