VB team beats Breckenridge
Starting off on the right foot doesn’t guarantee success, but it sure beats the alternative.
Jacksboro’s varsity volleyballers did just that Sept. 7, opening District 7-3A action with a 25-12, 22-25, 25-12, 26-24 win over visiting Breckenridge. The Tigerettes were able to get consistent serving runs and good frontcourt play throughout to eventually pull away.
Breckenridge had just one serving point in the opener. Jacksboro used pairs from Morgyn Green and Leah Plaster, the latter aided by a Baylee Thompson kill, to take a 10-4 lead, forcing a Breckenridge respite. Thompson had a three-point string aided by frontcourt work from Trinity Tisdale as Jacksboro went up 14-5.
Tisdale’s three-point run, with some help from a Thompson block, extended the lead to 21-8 and the Tigerettes coasted from there.
