VB girls stung by Boyd

Thu, 09/27/2018 - 11:19 am

When the top-ranked team in the state comes into your gym, the best thing to do is to play to your potential and give it everything you have.

Jacksboro’s varsity volleyballers did just that with Boyd at home Tuesday evening, giving a solid effort vs. the Lady Jackets before ultimately falling in straight sets 18-25, 20-25, 15-25. It was the second straight setback for the Tigerettes, who fall to 3-3 in District 7-3A while Boyd is now 6-0 in the loop.

Jacksboro Coach Tennessee Arey was pleased with her team’s play in the first two games but said her charges began to overthink things in game three.

“(Losing) 18-25, 20-25, I can deal with that because we played hard,” Arey said following the 63-minute match. “We just didn’t play well in game three.”
