Track qualify several for area

Jacksboro’s girls tricksters finished fourth at the District 7-3A Meet and qualified a number for the area meet.

Freshman Kylie Tullous led the way by qualifying in four events, winning the pole vault, finishing 2nd in the triple jump, third in the long jump, fourth in the 100-meter dash. She missed out on the 200-meter dash by just .20 of a second.

Other area qualifiers include Traci Berend, who finished third in the shot put, the 1,600-meter relay of Emma Owen, Rylee Mathis, Brynn Pardue and Rachael Chalmers, and Savannah Thompson in the discus. Thompson was fifth in the shot put with Maria Toscano sixth in the event.

The boys finished fifth with 64 points. Peyton Kinman won the pole vault with an 11’ effort. Davenport was fourth in the triple jump with a 39’3 1/2”. Caleb Helm was second in the shot put with a 46’3” throw. Ethan Daniels qualified for area with a fourthplace in the 110-hurdles in 19.49. Kaleem Howard and Landon Davenport qualified in the 300-meter hurdles with second and third-place times of 42.09 and 43.91, respectively.

The 400-meter relay quartet of Colt Kaker, Baylor Laake, Landon Davenport and Colton Ross were third in 45.09. Kaker, Davenport, Laake, and Kinman were third in the 1,600-meter relay in 3:38.88

Zach Sharp was 7th in the 800-meter run with a 2:23.97.

The area meet is in Dublin April 15.
