Tigers look to clip Eagles' wings

Thu, 11/08/2018 - 12:06 pm

Every group of seniors is different.

Seventeen upperclassmen will take the Tiger Stadium turf for the last time this evening as Jacksboro plays its final home game of the 2018 season vs. Rio Vista. The Tigers have won three straight to go to 3-1 in District 6-3A Division II and 5-4 overall while the Eagles are still looking for their first district win (0-4, 2-7).

Jacksboro broke things open after a tight second half to post a 48-26 win over Millsap, which solidified a playoff spot. Jacksboro Coach Brannon Rodgers said the game was a dogfight in the first half.

“We had some missed opportunities in the first half but with about 2 1/2 minutes to go in the first we drove and scored to take a 14-7 lead at halftime,” Rodgers explained. “We had a big interception by Landon Davenport to start the second half and scored off of that and began to take control.”
