Tigerettes unbeaten in tournament

Jacksboro went 5-0 in a weekend tournament hosted by Henrietta and Windthorst.

In Thursday’s game, Rylee Mathis fired a no-hitter in a 10-0 thrashing of Class 2A Alvord. Jacksboro scored three in the each of the first two innings a n d another four in the third on just two total hits. Kylie Tullous and Payton Nail each had a hit. Jaci Gann led the way with two RBIs. Nail and Holman had one each. Mathis struck out four in the three-inning game.

In Friday’s opener vs. Stamford Jacksboro got a battle from the Lady ‘Dogs but a fifth-inning run broke a 2-all tie and gave the Tigerettes a 3-2, six-inning win. Jacksboro scored once in the first, third and fifth while Stamford had both their runs in the second. Hadlee Richardson had two hits with Alex Hol man having one hit to account for the three hits. Holman tossed the six inning complete game and came through with five strikeouts.

Later Friday, the girls slapped out 24 hits in a 16-9 victory over Slaton. Jacksboro jumped out to a 9-0 lead in the second inning added single runs in the next two innings. The Tigerettes added three runs in the fifth and two more in the seventh. Slaton had two in the second, two in the third one in the fourth and four in the fifth.

Tullous and Richardson each had four hits with Avery Bennett adding three. Bennett had two RBIs as did Mathis.

Bennett had five innings pitched and struck out five before Holman tossed the final two innings, striking out four.

Jacksboro opened its pair of Saturday games with a 9-1 win over Petrolia.Jacksboro pounded out 14 hits, led by Tullous with four along with, Destany Valles and Richardson with two each. Gann had a pair of RBIs. Holman struck out five in her complete game win.

In Saturday’s nightcap, Jacksboro picked up a 21-3 win over the host Trojanettes. Jacksboro scored nine in the first, one in the second, six in the third and five in the fourth. Windthorst had a pair of first inning runs and one on the second.

Mathis and Nail had three hits each with Nail adding three RBIs. Tullous had two hits and a pair of RBIS. Holman had four RBIs.

Tullous had a pair of strikeouts in getting the win in the circle.

The girls hosted Iowa Park Tuesday (no details were available as of press time.
