Tigerettes sweep pair on road

Thu, 10/04/2018 - 11:25 am

PARADISE – It’s been said that momentum can change on a dime. In the Sept. 28 volleyball match here, it changed even quicker than that.

With visiting Jacksboro leading 24-16 in game one after a three-point string from Carly Hart, it looked like the Tigerette varsity volleyball team would cruise to the win in the opener. Paradise had other ideas, breaking serve and rolling off nine points in succession to come from behind and snatch victory from the jaws of defeat.

Thankfully, Jacksboro, who wanted to close the first round of District 7-3A action on a high note, wasted little time in coming back and taking control to post a 24-26, 25-15, 25-11, 25-17 victory. The Tigerettes are now 4-3 in District 7-3A.

Runs by Alex Holman and Hart got the visitors out to a 7-2 lead in game two. Paradise would get within three at 6-9 before another pair of strings from Leah Plaster and Baylee Thompson extended the lead to 17-9. Thompson used an ace and a Trinity Tisdale block to help extend the lead to eight.
