Tigerettes have busy weekend, going 3-1 in games

Jacksboro’s varsity softballs went 3-1 in pairs of doubleheaders Friday and Saturday.

In Windthorst Friday, the Purple posted a shutout sweep of Burkburnett and the host Trojanettes. Jacksboro posted an 8-0, four-inning win over Burkburnett, scoring twice in the first, five in the second and one in the third. The squad had nine hits led by Kylie Tullous, Holman and Hadlee Richardson with two hits each. Holman added a walk and three RBIs.

Tullous had two walks as well. Holman got the win in the circle, allowing two hits and fanning six.

In game two Friday, Avery Bennett got the shutout win over the hostesses with a 6-0 win. Jacksboro scored three runs in each of its final two at-bats after a scoreless first three innings.

Rylee Mathis and Ashlyn Nunley each had two hits, the latter coming through with two RBIs.

Saturday, the girls garnered a twin bill split, losing to Seminole 8-2 and beating the host Lady Blues 12-1.

Seminole outhit the Tigerettes 12-4, the Purple making seven miscues as well. Seminole jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the second.

Jacksboro cutting the deficit in half in the bottom of the third. Seminle added two fifth inning runs, three in the sixth and one of the seventh. Jacksboro had a sixth inning run but it was too little too late.

Holman got the complete game loss, striking out six in the circle.

In the nightcap, a ninerun first inning gave the Purple all the offensive it’d need. The squad added three runs in the fourth.

Holman had two hits and five RBIs while Tullous had another two hits and a pair of RBIs. Destiny Valles had two hits while Richardson had two RBIs.

Bennett tossed the complete four inning game.
