PARADISE – It’s not too often that all five members of a basketball team have an off night.
Such was the case of Jacksboro’s girls' basketball team Friday night here. With the Tigerettes trying to hang on to first place in District 7-3A, the Purple had to deal with a game bunch of Lady Panthers and, at times, some questionable officiating.
Still, when Kaycee Martin’s one-handed baby hook fell off the rim at the buzzer, you could hear a collective sigh of relief from the Jacksboro faithful who witnessed the visitors hang on for a 34-33 win. Jacksboro is now 10-1 in the loop.
Martin, who had 16 points for the Lady Panthers, was a no-brainer to take the last shot with less than three seconds to go and Paradise inbounding the ball under the Jacksboro basket. Morgyn Green grabbed the rebound to secure the win.
