Tigerettes beat WF Rider in opener

Thu, 11/08/2018 - 11:55 am

WICHITA FALLS – With little time to get ready for Tuesday evening’s season opener, Jacksboro’s girls' basketball team displayed what it could be like once it gets some practices and conditioning under its belt.

The Tigerettes got out to a quick start and cruised to a 46-20 win over Class 5A Wichita Falls Rider. The Tigerettes had one scrimmage and two practices before hitting the hardwood for real.

Jacksboro got out to a 10-3 lead after one with Trinity Tisdale tossing in four points, Jordan Nichols scoring three, Baylee Thompson two and Leah Plaster one.

Nichols had a pair of threes and a basket to score all the Tigerettes’ points in the second quarter. Fortunately, Jacksboro’s defense allowed just two points as the squad extended its lead into double figures at 18-5 at halftime.
