Thompson hopes to wreck Texas Tech
Chase Thompson knew where his sister Baylee was going to school three years ago.
Chase, a freshman at Texas Tech University at the time, said he knew Baylee, a freshman at Jacksboro High School, was going to be a dominant high school track athlete and called where she was going to school.
“I said she’ll get a full ride at Tech either academically or athletically, but I knew where she was going,” Chase Thompson said with a laugh. “I called it.”
Fast forward three years where the pair are now seniors. Baylee Thompson has had the solid academic and athletic careers her brother spoke of, winning a pair of state championships in track and field in the process.
On Wednesday, Nov. 13, Baylee decided to make her brother’s other thought come true and signed a national letter of intent to compete in track and field at Texas Tech before a large crowd of family and friends in the JHS library.
