BOWIE – Jacksboro fell behind 6-2 to the host Jackrabbits Friday night but used two big innings late to take what seemed like a safe lead.

The hosts had other ideas, tying the game in the sixth and winning on a walkoff, 11-10, in the seventh. Jacksboro, which lost its fourth straight, slips to 3-5 in District 7-3A.

Bowie jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the second but the Tigerettes got the runs back in the third. Kasey Ray Swan was hit by a pitch to get things started with fellow freshman Kaleem Howard beating out an infield single. Both moved over on Peyton Kinman’s sacrifice and scored on Christian Wiggins’ groundout and Jackson McComis’ double to tie the game.A strikeout ended the frame.

Bowie struck for three runs in its third, Colton Richie aiding his cause with a two-run double, for a 5-2 cushion through three. The Rabbits added another run in the fourth but the Tigers had pair of four-run innings to seemingly take control late.

Swan opened the fifth with a double. Kinman was hit by a one-out pitch. Consecutive singles by Wiggins and McComis cut the deficit to 6-4. A fielder’s choice play and an error on a pickoff throw at third tied the game at six. It would go no further as the next two hitters struck out to keep the game tied.

In the Jacksboro sixth, Cody Frie was hit by a pitch and moved into scoring position on a Swan sacrifice. Howard came through with his second infield single.

Kiman’s sac fly plated Frie. Walks to Wiggins and McComis loaded the sacks. Lando Belcher greeted reliever Logan Hudson with a first-pitch single to score two runs. Walks to Taber Dunn and Josh Pierce plated another run for a 10-6 lead.

Bowie got all four runs back in the bottom of the sixth and picked up the game winner on a walk and two hits in the seventh, Richie coming through with the game winner.
