ARCHER CITY – Josh Pierce took the mound for Jacksboro Thursday hoping to tame the host Wildcats with his arm.

When all was said and done, however, Pierce had done the job with his arm … and his bat.

Pierce went 2-3 at the plate, scoring two runs and batting in three while his Tiger teammates helped in the hit parade to take an 8-3, six-inning win to open the Windthorst Tournament . With the victory, the fourth straight for the Purple, Jacksboro improves to 6-3 for the season.
