Perrin slain by Dragons

Sat, 03/16/2019 - 12:38 pm

CHICO – RW Aldridge has developed a talent few pitchers, even in the majors, have mastered.

Perrin’s junior pitcher had no trouble picking off Chico baserunners Friday evening, nailing four runners at first base in the game. The Dragons, however, got enough timely hitting to take control early and post an 11-3 victory over the Pirates here.

Both teams are now 1-1 in district action.

It was the Pirates who drew first blood, however with a two-out rally in the first. Sammy Hernandez reached on an error while Aldridge beat out an infield single.

A passed ball moved the pair over 90 feet while a wild pitch plated Hernandez. Aldridge was left holding a bag after a strikeout ended the frame.
