PERRIN – Without three key players, Perrin was forced to use substitutes for key playing time Dec. 19 vs. Bluff Dale.

The Bobcats, who had just seven players, took advantage and made a game of it in the first half. The Pirate subs made some key contributions in the final two quarters and enabled the Pirates to pull away and post a 55-38 win. Perrin goes to 4-10 with the win.

Bobcat point guard D.J. Bibb had a solid first quarter, scoring 12 of his team’s 15 points in the first. Perrin Coach Jeff Browning said the reserves getting used to the defense was key.

“Once the kids got used to the man defense were able to shut (Bibb) down a bit,” Browning explained. “We put some pressure on them as a whole and were able to play our game.

Perrin stayed in the game early with Landon Draper, Michael Goodman, and Dylan Trammell spreading the offensive wealth. After Bibb had buried a pair of threes to give the Bobcats an 8-6 lead, Perrin took a 10-8 lead.

Bibb came through with the final seven Bluff Dale points to take a 15-12 lead after one.
