JMS girls track competes at Peaster

PEASTER – JMS girls tracksters had strong showings with top four finishes at the Peaster meet March 8.

The 7th grade finished fourth with 75 points. The squad was led by second-place finishes from Amber Cason in the 100-meters, Madison Collins in the 800-meters and Savannah Hearn in the shot-put. The 1,600-meter relay foursome of Cason, Ruby Flores, Dylan Nichols and Lainey Brown were third. The 400-meter relay quartet (Kennedy Lowther, Cason, Flores, and Brown) and the 800-meter relay squad (Lowther, Kailee Lehman, Flores, Brown) both finished fourth as did Peyton Perry in the discus, Collins in the 1,600-meters and Brown in the long jump.

In fifth spot was Hearn in the discus, Nichols in the triple jump, Lehman in the 200-meters and Perry in the shot put. Brooke Reeves was sixth in the discus.

The eighth grade girls finished third in their division with 118.5 points. The squad was led by firstplace finishes by Emily Rodgers in the 300-meter hurdles and Brailyn Tullous in the pole vault.

Tullous also had second-place finishes in the 800-meter run and triple jump. Other runner-ups were Michelle Barron in the 2,400-meter run and Emilee Bivens in the 1,600-meter run, the 1,600-meter relay of Tullous, Lauren Morris, Barron, and Rodgers.

Finishing in third place were the 400-meter relay quartet of Morris, Rodgers, Liliana Perez and Miranda Piedra and the 800-meter relay of Morris, Perez, Piedra and Lyla Pankey. Fourth-place finishes were picked up by Tullous in the 400-meter run, Barron in the 800-meter run, Emma Gass in the discus, along with Charli Haak in the shot put.

Brining home fifth-place hardware were Pankey in the 200-meters, Madyson Morgan in the discus and Rodgers in the triple jump.. Pankey in the long jump, Gass in the shot put and Brianna Green in the 100-meters were sixthplace finishers.
