JMS girls 2nd, 3rd at district meet in Jboro

Both the 7th and 8th grade girls track squads at Jacksboro Middle School had solid finishes to their track seasons after the district meet held at Tiger Stadium.

The 7th grade finished second with 111 points.

Salia Buerostro had individual wins in both the 200-meter and 400-meter dash and a group win with Ruby Flores, Dylan Nichols and Lainey Brown in the 1,600-meter relay. She was also 4th in the triple jump.

Brown was 2nd in the 400-meter dash, 4th in the 200-meters and 3rd in the long jump. Madison Collins won the 2,400-meter run, was 5th in the 800-meter run, and 3rd in the 1,6000-meter run.

Other 2nd-place finishes include the 800-meter relay foursome of Kennedy Lowther, Kailee Lehman, Flores and Amber Cason. The same foursome was 5th in the 400-meters.

Peyton Perry was 3rd in the discus.

On the 8th grade side, the Tigerettes were 3rd with 102 points. Michelle Barron had the win in the 2,400-meter run with Emilee Bivens taking top honors in the 1,600-meter run.

Finishing in 2nd place was the 1,600-meter relay quartet of Bivens, Barron, Brailyn Tullous and Emily Rodgers and Tullous in the pole vault. Tullous was 3rd in the 400-meter run and 800-meter run as was Madyson Morgan in the discus and Lyla Pankey in the pole vault.

In 4th place was Bivens in the 800-meter run, Rodgers in the 300-meter hurdles and Katherine Avalos in the 1,600-meter run, along with Lauren Morris, Liliana Perez, Miranda Piedra and Pankey in the 800-meter relay.

Morris was 5th in the 200-meters as was Rodgers in the 100-meter hurdles and Morgan in the shot put.
