Holliday wins five set battle in bi-district

GRAHAM – The question ‘What if’ has been haunting people forever.

Jacksboro’s volleyball squad rebounded from a tough game one to win game two of its bi-district match with Holliday Tuesday night. The era of good feeling continued into game three where the Tigerettes had a 20-14 lead.

The Lady Eagles, who won District 8-3A, mounted a comeback to snatch game three. Jacksboro continued to fight and won game four to force a deciding game five. It would be Holliday that would slowly pull away and post the 25-12, 18-25, 25-23, 22-25, 15-9 win over the Tigerettes, who finished fourth in District 7-3A.

Holliday, a former district opponent of Jacksboro, will now face Dublin in the area round of the Class 3A volleyball playoffs.

Jacksboro needed some time to get used to the Lady Eagles’ size up front. Breanna Box, a 6’2” senior, would be a force throughout the match.
