JHS girls track competes in Santo
SANTO The Tigerette varsity track team had a strong showing, finishing fifth with 66 points at its meet before Spring B real.
Kylie Tullous and Savannah Thompson led the way for Jacksboro, Tullous with 28.5 points and Thompson with 20. Tullous won the 100-meters in 13.1 seconds and pole vault with a 9’ effort. Thompson won both the shot put with a 30’2 3/4” toss and discus with a 90’1” throw.
Tullous was also second in the long jump with a 15’8 3/4” effort. Also finishing second was junior Traci Berend in the shot with a 28’7 1/2” throw.
Fifth-place finishes were recorded by Charlie Phariss in the 100-meters with a 13.72 time, Soleil DeSantiago in 3,200-meter run in 15:37.22. Sixth-place finishes came from DeSantiago in both the 800-meter (3:13.38) and 1,600-meters in 7:02.46, Isabel Bustos in the 3,200-meters with a 17:10.04, the 400-meter real quartet of Tullous, Rylee Mathis, Emma Owen, and Phariss with a 55.5 time, and Berend in the discus with a 67’11”.
The girls were scheduled to take part in the Jacksboro meet March 22. Results were not in by press time.
