Jacksboro VB wins in five; Bryson girls swept

Jacksboro’s volleyballers continued a strong turnaround Sept. 1 with a hard-fought five set thriller over host Burkburnett.

The Tigerettes (7-3) won their third straight with a 25-27, 25-18, 25- 20, 11-25, 15-13 victory. Jacksboro then returns home for its non-district finale Friday vs. Graham in a 4:30 p.m. first serve and then the first two District 7-3A matches vs. Nocona Sept. 8 and Sept. 12 vs. Breckenridge.

Bryson’s volleyballers were also on the road Sept. 1 taking on Benjamin and suffered a 20-25, 13-25, 23-25 setback to the host Mustangs. Offensively, Emery Fisher had an ace, as did Tracy Hauger, Victoria Goodman and Windsor Goodfrey. Rachel Robinson had four to lead the team. Hanna Perez and Hauger had two kills behind Riley Valliant’s four kills.
