I need to get back to the area stuff

Been in the area for little more than six years now.

It’s been a fair amount of fun. I’ve met some good people after some hard work to become acclimated in the community. Just like anything else I guess, it comes more and more with the passage of time.

I’m finding this more in the smaller communities. I had my best year of meeting people in Bryson earlier this year before COVID hit.

Met some friends during basketball season and met some more during volleyball season. Of course, I’ve had still others since I arrived in 2014 but graduation tends to take those away.

I received a Facebook friends request from someone who I knew so I accepted it. She wanted to get something into the paper and figured that was the easiest way to do so.

I wrote a story about the event, which occurred last weekend. I was thanked and reminded to come to this year’s event which began early Saturday morning.

A road trip to Wichita Falls the night before be damned, I was gonna go. Also I had two other events during the day so the timing was right as well.

A cup of coffee and a breakfast burrito stop had me on the road. I got there in time. I got what I needed done done and headed out. I was stopped, thanked for coming and given a hug, social distancing be damned.

I headed back to the office wrote this up, my game story from Friday evening and headed out to get the ribbon cutting for the Back to Space Event out at the lake. Caught a break, wrote cutlines and pics for Back in Space and headed to volleyball for the Tigerettes and Bowie.

Found out their VB match had been switched from Friday to Saturday, which initially threw me for a loop but I was able to get everything worked out. Apparently Jacksboro has done that for the rest of its Friday volleyball, moving it to Saturday

It looks like I’m going to be working Tuesdays in Jacksboro and Saturdays in the county to ensure everyone gets some volleyball coverage. I hope everyone enjoys it.
