Graham steers Jacksboro down losing path

Wed, 07/22/2020 - 5:00 am

Graham’s summer baseball league team sandwiched a pair of six-run innings and held Jacksboro to just four hits in a 16-2, four-inning win July 16 at Swan Field.

Graham had six runs in both the first and fourth innings, sandwiched around a four-run third. Tiger Edgar Regalado struck out the side in his one inning of work on the mound.

Regalado aided the Tiger cause offensively in the bottom of the first inning, opening the frame with a single. Courtesy runner Peyton Kinman stole second and moved to third on a balk call.

With two out, a throw down to third to retire Kinman was off the mark allowing the run to score. A strikeout ended the inning.

Aaron Harmonson opened the second with an infield single and stole two bases but was stranded to keep the score 6-1 Graham. After a four-run Steer third, Jacksboro got a run back in the third.

Jordan Yount led off with a double and was safe at third on a Dru Botello grounder to put runners at the corners. Daylan Valles’ double plated Yount for a 10-2 lead.

Kinman’s walk loaded the bases but infield popouts sandwiching a strikeout left the bases full.

Graham broke the game open with a six-run fourth. Jacksboro left a final run at third in its last at-bat.

Senior Taber Dunn drew a walk and moved to third on wild pitches.

Games are played at Swan Field every Thursday.
