BRYSON – Bryson had a rough go in its football season opener, losing to No.7 May at home 70-14.

The Tigers jumped out to a 40-14 lead after a quarter with May posting a 30-0 shutout in the second to win by 45-point mercy rule.

Landon Stephens was 5-15 passing for 130 yards and a scoring toss to Ragen Register from eight yards out. Conner Huffman led the team in receiving with three snares for 69 yards. Tyce Reeves also had a 44-yard reception.

On the ground, Reeves ran for 10 yards on three totes as did Huffman. Zander Tinney had two totes for 16 yards, Marcos Espinoza had one rush for two yards while Stephens had eight rushes for -26 yards and Register rushing for -2 yards on three carries.

Defensively, Reeves had four tackles and Tinney three to pace Bryson. Coming through with one tackles each were Stephens and Espinoza.

Bryson faced Throckmorton Friday evening. Results were not known by press time.
