Bucks defeat Jacksboro boys, 56-46

JACKSBORO – The Bucks traveled to Jacksboro to play the Tigers on their home court Friday, Jan. 29 and came out with a solid victory, 56-46.

The Bucks started out behind the Tigers down by five points at the end of the first quarter, 10- 15. However, the Bucks fought back closing the gap to 28-26 at halftime.

During the third quarter, the Bucks poured on the heat and outscored Jacksboro, 21-11 taking the lead 45-37.

The fourth quarter was more of a defensive game for both teams, but the Bucks outscored the Tigers, 11-9 .Jacksboro is now 1-7 in District 7-3A play with Breckenridge heading home at 3-5 in the loop.

Jonas Arellano led the scoring with 16 points, with Nathan Lechner scored 14 points and two of his buckets were three-pointers. Anson Rodgers had 7 points, Zeke Castillo had 6 and Jerry Lawson was limited to 4 points, and Kason Knight had 3 points. Rodgers had a three-pointer as did Castillo.

Both teams have a chance to get up the league standings with games vs. Henrietta this week. In the first meeting, Breckenridge won a 59-58 game with Jacksboro coming through with a convincing 49-36 victory.

Holliday is in second place with a 6-1 record behind City View with an undefeated district record of 7-0.
