BRYSON – Over the course of a volleyball season, teams hopefully progress and get better as things move on.
For Bryson’s volleyball team that has been the case, the squad overcoming early injuries to grab a Class A district title. For Forestburg, not so much as the Lady Longhorns came into a Nov. 1 bi-district matchup with Bryson reportedly winless on the season.
Because of there only being two Class A teams out of Forestburg’s district, the Lady ‘Horns automatically moved into the playoffs. Bryson, which had beaten Forestburg in straight sets on Aug. 28, repeated the feat in just 50 minutes 25-5, 25-13, 25-6 to move on in the Class A volleyball postseason.
The Cowgirls, champs of District 10-A, will now face District 12-A champs Dodd City Monday at 6 p.m. in Lindsay. Bryson Coach Chelsea Kincaid said her troops were able to get something out of the area round matchup.
