Bryson sweeps Perrin off ship
PERRIN – Beating a rival is always tough, particularly at their place.
Bryson’s volleyballers have had difficulties playing in Perrin’s gym the last several years, managing to come out with a win but always getting a battle from the Lady Pirates. Saturday was no different, as the Cowgirls held tough and withstood the storm in a 25-18, 25-21, 25-17 win over Perrin.
Bryson fell behind 3-0 early courtesy of Kelli Tucker but took the lead on a four-point run from Kyla Jones. Perrin went up 8-7 on a Gracie Turner tally but Bryson’s Tracy Hauger’s pair put the Cowgirls up 10-8.
The Lady Pirates tied the game at 11 and at 15, the latter on a Savannah Burkett pair. Kamryn Staggs brought Perrin back from three points down to knot the game at 18. It would prove to be the final time.
Bryson broke serve and finished the game off with a six-point string by senior Brinkley Richardson.
