Bryson, Perrin qualify several for regional meet

BRYSON – Several track athletes from Perrin and Bryson will compete in the Regional track meet at Whitney this weekend after strong top four showings at the Area meet last Monday here.

On the boys side, Perrin finished fourth with 48 points. Michael Goodman won the 3,200-meters in

11:35.96. Goodman was also third in the 800-meters in 2:14.31, as was McCain Beck in the 1,600-meters with a 5:27.8 and Kolby Burke in the 3,200-meters in 12:13.96.

Fourth-place finishes were recorded by the 1,600-meter relay quartet of Landon Ruiz, Tyler Welch, Goodman, and Beck along with Ruiz in the high jump with a 5’6 effort.

Bryson was sixth with 43 points. TJ Imotichey continued a strong year in the discus with another winning throw of 136’3”. In second place was Landon Stephens in the long jump with an 18’7 3/4”.Stephens was third in the high jump with a 5’9” and fourth in the 300-meter hurdles in 50.78. Also qualifying was Justin Justus in the shot out with a 38’ 1/4” try.

On the girls side, Perrin finished second with 83 points. The squad had two wins including Erika Hernandez, Aaliyah Brown, Abby VanBuskirk and Tatum Collier with a time of 1:58.64 in the 800-meter relay. Brown took an individual first in the shot put with a throw of 30’ 5 3/4”.

The Lady Pirates had several third place finishes, including Hernandez, Brown, Jasper Cansler and Vanbuskirk in the 400-me ter relay with a 56.06 clocking.Hernandez, Brown, Collier, and Vanbuskirk were third in the 1,600-meters with a 4:52.28 time. Alissa Dugan was third in the 100-meter hurdles in 18.9 and in the high jump with a 4’4”. Vanbuskirk was third in the long jump with a 14’7” and triple jump with a 32’3 1/4”.

Natasha Frissell was fourth in the 800-meters with a 3:02.9 clocking.

Bryson’s girls had their lone first place with TRinadee Imotichey winning the discus with an 86’2 throw.

Tracy hanger was second in the 300-meter hurdles in 52.37 and was a member of the 400-meter relay squad of Kirra Smith, Allie Orr, and Windsor Godfrey with a time of 55.62. Godfrey was second in the 400-meters with a time of 1:05.55.
