Bryson’s volleyball team continued its scenario of playing down to its opponents Tuesday night, getting off to a quick start before letting the visiting Lady Bobcats make things interesting in game two before pulling away to post a 25-13, 25-21, 25-11 win at Bryson Gym.
The Cowgirls will be the top Class A seed in the playoffs out of their combined district. The postseason begins for Bryson with a first round bye.
Bryson will have an area round match vs. Forestburg, which the girls swept earlier, Nov. 7 in Jacksboro. As part of a potential doubleheader, gamete has not been set yet.
Cowgirl Coach Kim Hauger said it’s hard to play your best against a team against a weaker team like Bulff Dale.
“I think we did what we needed to do,” Hauger said following the Senior Night match. “It’s just hard to get into a rhythm and momentum.”
Bluff Dale jumped out to a 2-0 lead before Hannah Robinson rolled off three straight, with some help from a Brinkley Richardson dink for a 5-3 lead. Freshman Tracy Hauger’s 11-point string, mostly caused by Bluff Dale floor errors, put Bryson up 18-5.
The visitors would get within nine at 12-21 before single serving points from Robinson and Richardson, the finale put home by a Windsor Godfrey kill, finished game one.
Bryson started out strong in game two, A three-point Robinson string and four in a row from Richardson helped the squad go up 10-2. Emery Fisher’s pair extended the lead to 16-5.
