Big sixth inning lifts JHS SB past Breckenridge

Wed, 03/31/2021 - 5:00 am

Even on the nights where you don’t play particularly well, good teams find a way to win.

Such is the case of Hacksboro which led from wire to wire but needed a five-run sixth inning to pull away and post an 8-3 victory over visiting Breckenridge.

Seventh-ranked Jacksboro is one win away from a perfect first round run through District 7-3A at 5-0 and will travel to Henrietta Tuesday night to try and accomplish the task. Results weren’t available as of press time.

The Tigerettes scores single runs in each of the first three innings to get out on the right foot. A five-run Purple sixth inning and a nine-hit attack gave Jacksboro enough fire power to win. Breckenridge scored three seventh-inning runs to avoid the shutout.

Hadlee Richardson and Jaci Gann each had two hits to pace the Jacksboro offense. Pitcher Alex Holman had three RBIs to lead the squad. Holman tossed a complete game in the circle with 11 strikeouts.
