Abilene bound with one addition

Several Jacksboro track and field athletes qualified for the Region I-3A Meet April 26-27 in Abilene by virtue of top 4 finishes at the Area 7-8 Meet Monday at Tiger Stadium.

Both teams finished 8th out of 14 overall. The girls finished with 26 points, paced by first-place finishes in the shot put (42’10”) and discus (134’7” a personal best) for junior Baylee Thompson. Leah Plaster also qualified in the shot put with a third-place finish with a 36’3/4”. Plaster was seventh in the discus with a 95’5”.

On the boys' side, the Tigers came out with 36 points. The 1,600-meter relay foursome of Ke’Ondrae Sadler, Landon Davenport, Randall Hamilton, and David Massengale finished second in 3:30.99 with Massengale was third in the 400-meters with a 52.05. Sadler was fourth in the long jump with a 43’9” and also qualified in the long jump with a 20’ 4 1/2”.

Also getting points for Jacksboro was the 800-meter relay squad of Sadler, Brian Quiroz, Davenport and Massengale with a 1:33.77, which finished fifth, Caleb Helm in the shot put with a 43’11 3/4” and Seth Isbell in the discus after a 138’3”. Both Helm and Isbell finished sixth.
