Rains a welcome blessing to the area

Fri, 11/18/2016 - 4:06 pm
In and Around Post Oak

This week we have had nice rains in our area. My gauge measured about 2 inches total.

The temperature has been nice also, cool and not windy. Of course I am so old that cool is cold to me and I have trouble keeping warm.

My fall garden has been producing a lot of tomatoes and some squash and okra and I have a watermelon that will be ready to pick in about a week if the freezing weather holds off that long.

The Busy Bee quilters met on Thursday with six members present. Those attending were Clydene Webb, Nancy Conner, Gena Phillips, Nelda Hopkins, Eunice Frost, and myself. Elsie Graham is recovering from back surgery and I just heard that Billie Jo Godfrey is recovering from a bad fall.

I visited the new Quilt Shop in Jacksboro a few days ago and will recommend it to anyone interested in fabric. They have some beautiful fabric and also do quilting. I enjoy seeing new fabric. I’m sure they can help you with new patterns also.

The Post Oak community will celebrate Thanksgiving on Saturday night with a supper everyone is invited just bring a covered dish and come enjoy the fun. Turkey and ham is furnished and listen to the group of singers from Spanish Fort.

The event will begin at 6 p.m.
