Call to action

Wed, 03/31/2021 - 5:00 am

For years wind energy projects were called Wind Farms. They are not farms - they are massive industrial complexes that begin with and wastefully survive on your local, state and federal tax dollars.

Imagine a wind turbine taller than a 62 story building. Those monsters are proposed for projects in Jack and Clay Counties.

Thursday, March 18th , 150 property owners met at the Twin Lakes Community Center to learn how foreign wind energy complexes de value our properties.

Those vocal participants shared a common goal; protect their properties, their neighbors’ properties, and to prevent the county from wasting our personal tax dollars on tax abatements for wind industrial complexes that already mar the beauty and value of Jack County. Wind projects offer free money but the fact of the matter is, all property owners suffer egregious consequences.

Forty-year contracts will outlive the current landowner and probably the wind energy company as well, but for 40 years landowners surrender their land to a multitude of 3 rd party companies. Wind complexes rob landowners of their property rights, property values, enjoyment of their land, their peace of mind and the unobstructed use of their land.

Presenters demonstrated that wind energy threatens Wildlife, including Whooping Cranes. They also threaten property values, county tax revenue, fly ways for military air training, tourism, hunting, oil leases, agriculture, and the value of their neighbor’s property and views.

The spirit and determination of the 150 participants was awe inspiring. Tommy Gitchell of Jack Co. closed the meeting with a “Call to Action”. April 12 th at 9 AM at the Jack County Commissioners Court

Earnestly and factually express your objection to wind industrial complexes.
