William Doyle Moore, Jr.

William Doyle Moore, Jr. was born May 17, 1933 in Jack County, to William Doyle Moore, Sr. and Cora Edna Hughes Moore. He and Carla Jeanette Owen were married May 25, 1956 in the home of his parents in Jack County. He left this earth May 18, 2021 at the age of 88 years and 1 day. He was a member of First United Methodist Church of Jacksboro.

Doyle served in the US Army for three years during which he was stationed in Korea. He began working in the oilfield in 1956, first for Bridwell Oil Company, then as owner of Moore Well Service, and finally for Echo Production as Production Superintendent until his retirement in 1998. Hard work, dedication and loyalty were characteristics he modeled and instilled in his children.

Doyle is survived by his wife Carla of 65 years; daughter Marcia Jackson and husband Monty, of Jacksboro; son Ray Moore, of Jacksboro; and son Jimmy Moore and wife Sally, of San Diego, CA.; grandchildren Karla Miller and husband Jeff; Ricky Thurman and wife Brittany; Ben Jackson and wife Tara; Erica Moore; John Moore and fiancé Amanda Gunderson; great-grandchildren Noelle, Simon, Jayci, Tyler, Madison, August, Kylie, Bennett, Lillian, Emma, Bailey, and Kahila; great-great granddaughter Zoey; and a host of extended family and friends.
