William Beeler Owen

William Beeler Owen, 90, moved to his heavenly home on Thursday, July 18, 2019 in Jacksboro, Texas.

He was the sixth son born to Robert Owen and Lucy Eva Oliver Owen in Barton Chapel on September 17, 1928.

W.B. graduated from Jacksboro High School; Tarleton; Texas A&M University and received a Master’s Degree from Abilene Christian.

He taught vocational agriculture for 33 years. He taught in Oklaunion, Throckmorton, Breckenridge and Jacksboro. He received many awards as a teacher. He received an Honorary American Farmer Degree, a national honor.

He was very active in Farm Bureau, Breckenridge Rotary Club, Jacksboro Lions Club, Chamber of Commerce, The Jack County Museum and First United Methodist Church.

He was preceded in death by his son, Cody and his wife of 67 years, Dorotha Graves Owen.

Survivors include his sister in law, Ginny Owen of Abilene, Texas. His three daughters and their spouses, Belinda Renicks and David of Bryson; Judy Bush and Bruce of Llano; Sue Smith and Roger of Graham; ten grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.

A funeral service was held Monday, July 22, 2019 at First United Methodist Church of Jacksboro.
