Weldon “Pete” Woolsey

Weldon O. (Pete) Woolsey, 90, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 7, 2020 in Wichita Falls where he was currently residing at Rolling Meadows Retirement Center. Pete was born Jan. 14, 1929 in Jack County to Emmitt and Pearl (Board) Woolsey. 

On Aug. 15, 1953, Pete married Ima Jean (Mickey) Christian in Jacksboro at the Live Oak Baptist Church. Together they raised two children Karen Lanette and Brady. Pete proudly served our county in the United States Army during the Korean War. He also worked for the Texas Highway Department in Jacksboro for 40 years. After retirement he enjoyed ranching and country living. Pete and Mickey enjoyed many years of RV traveling where they made many lasting friendships. Pete was a long-time member of Live Oak Baptist Church where he faithfully served for many years. Pete also enjoyed volunteering for the local Meals on Wheels and was a recognized blood donor to the Red Cross. 

Pete is survived today by his wife of 66 years, Mickey (Christian) Woolsey; children, Karen Lanette Cheek and husband Garry, and Brady Woolsey and wife Julie; 3 grandchildren, Carmen Washam and husband Brian, Jacob Woolsey and wife Robin and Haley Woolsey; sister, Wanda Gleason.
