Ronald Gene Kennedy, 66, passed away on August 22, 2016 in Houston after succumbing to cancer. 

Born to Sammye and James Kennedy on September 26, 1949, Ron was a standout student and athlete at Jacksboro High School where he grew up. 

Ron’s passion for Christ was evident in his life and his actions, he was a member of Bethany Christian Church in Houston. Ron always took the backroads to travel and knew where to stop for the best kolaches, watermelon, kibbeh, and brisket. He will be remembered for his deep love for God, family and his appreciation of the Mattress Mack’s commercials for Gallery Furniture in Houston. 

Many thanks for the support and help of Blair Parker and the congregation at Bethany Christian Church and special thanks to the doctors and nurses at Methodist Hospital and the comfort provided at Houston Hospice.

He is survived by his brother James R. Kennedy of Austin, his father James Kennedy and Jo Ann Killen of Jacksboro.
