Robert William Crombie, passed away Thursday, Jan. 27, in Jacksboro. He was 71 years old. Robert was born March 1, 1950 in New York to Hal Crombie and Betty (Lindsey) Crombie.

A memorial service was held at 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 4, at Christian Missions in Jacksboro.

Robert married the love of his life, Ellen, Dec. 7, 1979 in Jack County. He was a member of the Memorial Christian Church in Jacksboro, and worked in the oil field industry for many years.

Robert is preceded in death by his parents.

Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife, Ellen Crombie; children, Leann Johnson and husband Jason, of Jacksboro, Jennifer Thompson, of Wichita Falls, Kristen Wellington and husband Roby, of Palm Springs, Calif., and David Crombie and wife Kara, of Jacksboro; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; brothers, Tom Crombie and Richard Crombie; along with a host of extended family and friends.
