Robert Bruce Perry, Jr.

Thu, 07/14/2016 - 3:11 pm

Robert Bruce Perry, Jr. went to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday July 11, 2016 from his home in Jacksboro. He was 60 years old.

He was born on August 24, 1955 in Fort Worth to Robert Bruce and Nancy Louise (Maxwell) Perry. Robert married Lisa Carol Simpson on January 28, 1989 in Jacksboro.

He owned Tiger Tank Trucks, was an active and faithful member of Southwest Baptist Church, past Jack County Sheriff and Assistant Chief of the Fire Department, a Boy Scout, on the Jacksboro Planning and Zoning Board, volunteered for Big Brother/ Big Sister and the Mesquiteville Committee.

Robert was an avid Tiger fan and loved watching all of his kids at ballgames — all of his kids included the entire JHS student population! He truly “bled purple”. He was better known as “Rah Rah” throughout the community.

Most of all he was a kind and loving Christian man, husband, father and friend. Robert dearly loved his family which included far more than those who were blood-related to him. He truly was a shining light within the Jacksboro community and beyond.

Robert is preceded in death by his parents and his sisters Jammie Hart and Patricia Wells.

Among the many who will miss him dearly include his wife Lisa Perry and daughters Cailli Carol Perry and Darby Taelor Perry all of Jacksboro; sisters Nancy Eason of Fort Worth, Hattie Atwood and husband Rickey of Bridgeport, Dorothy Perry of Ennis, Wanda Perry of Corsicana, and Mary Perry of Glen Heights; brothers James Bunky Hill and wife Jana of Wills Point, Robert Anthony Perry of Ennis, James Perry and wife Lisa of Bristol; brother-in-law Beauford Hart and wife Fay of Jacksboro; and many, many other extended family members and friends.

There will be a Celebration of Life service at 11 a.m. Saturday July 16, 2016 at Southwest Baptist Church with a barbecue luncheon and visitation immediately following under the direction of Coker Funeral Home.

If so desired memorials may be made to: The Robert Perry Memorial Scholarship Fund c/o Jacksboro National Bank, PO Box A, 910 N Main Street Jacksboro, Texas 76458 or Concerned Citizens 400 East Pine Street Jacksboro, Texas 76458 or Ronald McDonald House 1001 8th Avenue, Fort Worth, Texas 76104.
