Richard Potts went to be with the Lord on Sunday, June 13, in Graham. A funeral service was held Tuesday, June 15, in the Barclay Room at Young County Arena. Interment followed at Loving Cemetery. McMillan-Satterwhite Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Richard was born Feb. 21, 1956, in Graham, to Thomas Edward and June Marie Conlee Potts. He was retired from AT&T, where he worked for 35 years. He worked as a Farmer and Rancher. He was a member of Texas Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association.

He loved rodeos and was an avid Team Roper. If you attended a Team Roping event at Young County Arena, chances are you would find him there. He competed in the Senior Team Roping Association, United States Team Roping Championships, and 40+ Team Roping events. He married Shannon Plowman on May 15, 2016, in Young County. He was a man of few words and will be dearly missed by all.

Richard is survived by his wife, Shannon Potts; two sons, Joshua Potts and husband, Abery Knight, Taylor Potts and wife, Maury Potts; two daughters, Marka Genz and Micah Chandler; stepson Travis Plowman and wife, Kendra; stepdaughter, Brady Plowman; sister, Anna Marie Maggard; and five grandchildren, Elijah Potts, Samuel Potts, Judah Potts, Kelton Genz and Kylee Genz.

He was preceded in death by his father, Thomas Edward Potts; and brother, Charles Edwin Potts.
