Richard Eugene McFarland was born in El Paso, Texas on May 30, 1945 to Richard B. and Betty Jo (Davis) McFarland. He passed from this life peacefully at home at the age of 75 in Jacksboro.

A memorial service was held Friday, May 14, 2021 at the First Baptist Church in Jacksboro.

Richard married Linda Kay (Riddle) McFarland, the love of his life, on April 30, 1962 in Lamesa, Texas. Before they married, they aspired to have a happy and healthy family with strong Christian values. They succeeded together raising four wonderful children.

During his life, Richard was employed by Halliburton Oil, was an oilfield supervisor for MHM Oil

Company, and proudly retired from McFarland Plumbing. He was also a member of the First Baptist

Church in Jacksboro, Texas. He had everything he wanted in life because he had his family. Richard was a selfless loving man who will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Richard is preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Linda McFarland; children, Richard (Rick) Eugene McFarland Jr. and wife Kecia, Belinda Kay Gann and husband Lee, Julie Ann Lindsey and husband Marty, and Rodney Earl McFarland and wife Meredith; 27 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; and siblings, Diana Williams and husband David, Betty Lynn Jaggars, and Kenneth Wayne Trim and wife Mary; along with a host of extended family and friends.
