Neta Jo Yates, age 78, passed away Saturday, Oct. 8, in Jacksboro.

She was born Aug. 20, 1944, in Shawnee, Okla. to Paul and Veda Bernice (Breashears) Curtner.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 13, at Coker Funeral Home in Jacksboro. Burial followed at Oakwood Cemetery.

Neta taught at Morningside Elementary School in Fort Worth for over 33 years and truly loved working with children and furthering their education.

Throughout her life, Neta was a member of the First United Methodist Church, the Retired Teachers Association, the Jacksboro Garden Club, Bridge Club, and a curator for the Jack County Museum. She will truly be missed.

Neta is preceded in death by her parents.

She is survived today by her children, Kent Yates and Marlena Ramsey and husband Bill; grandchildren, Alexis and Caroline Ramsey; siblings, Paula Bowen and PD Curtner; along with many extended family members and friends.
