Nathan Wayne Chapoy

Nathan Wayne Chapoy left this earth for his heavenly home on Friday, Aug. 13 at the age of 40 years old. He was born on May 13, 1981 in San Antonio to Rene and Cindy Chapoy.

Nathan married Megan Norvill on Aug. 27, 2015 in Decatur. Together they lived and raised their family in Jacksboro. Nathan was a founder and member of The Light Church and is also a Tarleton State University graduate. Nathan is preceded in death by grandparents, Charles Joe Carrell, Sr., Beverly June Carrell, Vera Carrell, and David Chapoy Sr.

Among the many people who will cherish his memory include his wife Megan Chapoy; children, Christian Wampler, Kinley Wampler, Layton Chapoy and Eli Chapoy; parents, Rene and Cindy Chapoy; sister, Stephanie Swan and husband Kasey, and their children Kasey Ray II and Kyler; father and mother-in-law, Duane and Janet Norvill; brother in law, Josh Norvill and wife Brittany, and their children, Kora, Bella and Reid; and grandmother, Hope Chapoy; and many other extended family members and friends.

Visitation was held from 6-7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 19 at Coker Funeral Home in Jacksboro. Services were held at 1 p.m. Friday, August 20 at First Baptist Church in Jacksboro, with burial following at Oakwood Cemetery in Jacksboro under the direction of Coker Funeral Home. Pallbearers included Jeff Hobbs, Tobi Alsip, Shawn Leach, Nate Burger, Jonathan, and Kasey Swan. Honorary pallbearers will be Cody Moore, Clint Avants, David Curtner, Timothy Nevil, Jose Gonzales, Kasey Ray Swan II, and Kyler Swan.
