Maria Elena McFatridge, of Jacksboro, Texas, passed away Monday, October 31, 2016 at her home. She was 58 years old.

She was born on May 17, 1958 to Amado G. and Magdelena (Arriaga) Huerta in Piedras Negras, Mexico.

Maria was a homemaker and a loving mother, sister, grandmother and friend.  She was a loving mother not just to her own children but to any child that came into her life.  Maria’s grandchildren and great-grandchildren were her passion. She was the heart of the family who did everything she could to make sure they had everything. She will be terribly missed. 

She is preceded in death by her father and a son David Wayne Massengale, Jr.

Among those who will cherish her memory include her mother Magdelena Arriago Huerta; three daughters Cindy Long, Sandy Bowland, Angie Pierce and husband Jimmy all of Jacksboro; sisters Maria de Rosario Huerta, Sylvia Blanco and husband Jose Luis, and Geneva Alcata and husband Jose; brother Angel Huerta and wife Peggy; 10 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and many other extended family members and friends.

A graveside service was held at 1 p.m. Friday, Nov. 4 at Perrin Memorial Gardens, 300 Back Cemetery Road, Perrin.
