LaRue Matlock Guice, 86, passed away Tuesday, July 19, at her home in Jermyn. A Visitation was held from 9 to 10 a.m. Saturday, July 23, at Jermyn Baptist Church, with a Funeral Service immediately following.

LaRue was born July 1, 1936 in Jermyn, to Travis Guy Matlock and Hettie Ruby Durham Matlock. She married the love of her life, Late James Olan Guice on November 29, 1969 in Jermyn. LaRue worked for JISD for many years as a Special Education Aide. She donated much of her time to Concerned Citizens of Jack County. She also helped with Secret Santa, Clothes Closet and the Boy Scouts of America. She loved cooking and baking. LaRue was a member of Jermyn Baptist Church.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Travis and Hettie; husband, Olan; siblings, Jimmie Matlock, Patsy Marr, and Peggy Allee.

Those left behind to cherish her memory include her sons, Timothy Guice and wife April, and Trenton Guice; grandchildren Joshua and Jonah Guice; and sister-in-laws, Phyllis Matlock, Sherri Guice, Virginia Guice and Mary Fish.
